Some things feel as though they were destined to happen. Brooke and Shane’s relationship is one of those things! Brooke is from Eagan and Shane was born in Michigan, but grew up in Inver Grove Heights. Why does this matter? Well, that meant that Shane was just 5 minutes from Brooke’s childhood home! Strangely enough, they never met until they were adults as they went to different schools.
Fast forward to adulthood where the two of them met as many millennials do, on a dating app! According to Shane, his wit, charm, and humor immediately won Brooke over while he played hard to get by waiting a bit to respond. We’ll take his word for it 😉 A few years later, it was time for Shane to propose to Brooke, who is notoriously hard to surprise. Shane prepared a delectable breakfast array and surprised Brooke with breakfast and a proposal in bed. He surprised her further by flying out two of her best friends from college and capped the day off with a surprise engagement party at his parent’s house with the rest of their friends and family. We have to admit, Shane did a great job with this fun-filled proposal day!
When they got started planning, we were delighted to find out that one of our past brides, Katie, had referred them to us. Fun fact, Katie also did our website and rebrand in 2021 (thanks Katie)! When they booked with us, they already had their venue booked, but knew that they wanted a planner to help with the rest of wedding planning as Brooke doesn’t like making decisions. We were so excited to help with these details!
Brooke and Shane booked Mosaic as their wedding venue. It was important that they had a space that could accommodate all of their family and friends without compromising their guest list. The large, centrally located venue was a perfect fit for their needs! They also loved the modern aesthetic of Mosaic and wanted to embrace the black and white by keeping their wedding decor very classy and simple.
The ladies started their day by getting ready on site at Mosaic with Warpaint Beauty Agency perfecting their hair and Asia Marie Beauty giving them amazing glam. Once they were ready, everyone began getting dressed. The bridesmaids wore sleek black dresses in a variety of styles from Azazie, the guys sported black suits from Milbern, and Brooke slipped into her beautiful gown from The Wedding Shoppe.
Brooke then shared an emotional first look with her father, which truly embraced the love this family has for one another.
Meanwhile, Shane was having his own first look with “Brooke” (aka a groomsman dressed up in a wedding dress). This put a smile on everyone’s faces and was such a fun start to the day!
This was our first wedding working with Kaylah Hammer Photography, who has become a favorite of ours ever since! She captures every moment with such intention and purity, and these two first looks are a great example of that!
Then it was time for Shane’s real first look with Brooke. We love how this moment alone shows what a playfully loving relationship these two share!
Kaylah Hammer Photography then spent some time taking the couple around for portraits. These two were naturals in front of the camera!
The couple had a large wedding party, so when it came to group photos we made sure to build in plenty of time on the timeline. Kaylah is also great at keeping things moving while having a fun attitude and capturing things as they happen naturally! Calisto from our team was with the wedding party all day as well. Her job was to help keep things on schedule and assist with any of their needs. This is our Wedding Party Concierge service, which is complimentary to all Full Planning clients.
The KUE team then tucked the wedding party away as guests began to arrive for the ceremony. Once everyone had taken their seats, we began the processional. Thanks to our rehearsal the day prior, this went smoothly despite having a large wedding party! Brooke and Shane opted to do a “unity shot” of whiskey with a bottle they picked up in Ireland on a family trip. It even had a special label for their wedding day! We loved that the couple opted to use our acrylic table for their unity ceremony. Tami with Studio B Floral filled the table with flowers that matched the couple’s theme. We share a studio space with Tami, so it’s always a great collaboration when we work with her!
For cocktail hour we decided it would be best for the couple to rent the Brewer’s Den at Finnegan’s, as they had a very large guest count. That way guests could move to an entirely different room while the vendors worked on flipping the ceremony space for the reception. This helped everything go much more smoothly and added a surprise factor when guests came back and saw the flipped space!
Once guests made their way to their seats, Brooke and Shane had their grand entrance. We have to say, these two know how to hype up a room and throw a party! Dinner consisted of delicious food from Chef Jeff, tasty drinks from Steady Pour, and sweet treats from Nothing Bundt Cakes.
As dinner wrapped up, Brooke was shown that there was a live painter as a surprise gift for her! Based on her reaction, you can tell that Michelle with Custom Keepsake Drawings was working magic!
Brooke and Shane then took to the dance floor to share their first dance, followed by each of their parent dances. They were all so sweet!
Then it was time to get the party started! We knew A DJ Named Todd from Complete would be a great fit to manage their guest count, and he did not disappoint. He kept their large dance party going all night long! Time Into Pixels also had their photo booth on site for the reception, which was such a fun way for guests to capture their night. This was truly a party to remember. We had a great time helping everyone celebrate Brooke and Shane at their Mosaic wedding!
Shoutout to all the vendors that helped us pull this Mosaic wedding off for Brooke and Shane!
