Jackie and Tyler fell in love during their senior year of college at St. Lawrence University in New York. They were together for around 12 years (8 of which were long distance), before Tyler popped the question. It was a beautiful July morning in Minnehaha Park, which was the first place Tyler took Jackie when she visited his home state of Minnesota for the first time. He ended up proposing under a massive tree in a quiet field near the falls. This is actually the same tree that is pictured in their engagement photos by Rachel Lahlum Photography!
The couple fell in love with Machine Shop and decided to make it a major focus of their day. We can’t blame them, the KUE team loves this venue too! They have an awesome staff and industrial vibes in a great part of Minneapolis, St. Anthony Main. These details definitely ticked a lot of boxes for Jackie and Tyler, so it was time to get started with their Machine Shop Wedding!
The ladies spent the morning getting ready with Primped who perfected their hair and makeup at the hotel before heading to the venue for Rachel Lahlum Photography to take photos during the finishing touches. Jackie looked beautiful in her off the shoulder gown from Vow’d!
Once Jackie was ready, she did a first look with her father, Dan, followed by a first look with her groom. These details are so sweet, so we always ensure that we build enough time into the timeline for them to savor these moments. Once the couple wrapped up with their first look, Rachel Lahlum Photography took the couple around the venue for portraits. They even got a few with their two greyhounds, Ed and Lucy. One thing about Jackie and Tyler is that they are obsessed with greyhounds, especially their two pups!
The couple opted to keep things simple with a small wedding party consisting of one attendant each. We still made sure they had plenty of time for wedding party portraits and family portraits before the ceremony. As guests began to arrive around 5pm, we called for a hard stop on photos and tucked the wedding party away for some relaxation before the ceremony at 5:30.
Once everyone was seated, it was time to start the ceremony. The couple’s dogs were walked down the aisle by Jackie’s brothers and sat on blankets near the front to witness their parents being married. Jackie was escorted by both of her parents and looked absolutely stunning! The couple’s officiants were actually two of their college friends who set them up during their senior year. Those friends are now married to one another too. This was such a fun dynamic for their ceremony!
When the ceremony wrapped up, guests made their way upstairs for an extended cocktail hour while the vendor teams got to work on the room flip of the downstairs space. It’s super important that vendors work together during this time. Luckily we helped Jackie and Tyler pull together an amazing vendor team for their Machine Shop wedding that made this easy!
Our pink styled shoot was an inspiration for part of the couple’s reception design, which involved renting linens and decor from Linen Effects. The lighting from Phos and florals from The Cutting Garden were the perfect touch to pull everything together!
Once we had everything set up, we invited Jackie and Tyler down to see a reveal of the reception space they worked so hard on designing. Their reactions as they took in every detail were priceless!
When all of the guests were seated, we got the grand entrance started. Since they had a small wedding party, the couple chose to include parents, brothers, and even the officiants in the entrance! Check out everyone’s super cool shades they wore for this moment!
Rachel Lahlum Photography then took the couple directly into a table dash. This is when the couple runs from table to table to ensure they get a photo with all of their guests. Rachel has done this for most of our couples, and it is a hit each time!
Deco Catering then began serving salads along with a wine pour, followed by a delicious plated meal. When dinner wrapped up, Deco made sure everyone’s sweet tooth was satisfied with yummy desserts!
Instant Request then helped out with the first dances and got the party started. The dance floor was full for the rest of the night! Studio Veil was there to capture the dance floor excitement, along with every detail throughout the day beforehand. The couple was so happy to have these moments captured on video for years to come!
Before Rachel Lahlum Photography’s coverage ended for the night, she took the couple out for a few evening shots. You can’t beat the glow of the Minneapolis skyline as a backdrop!
The rest of the night was spent dancing with Instant Request, taking photos in the booth from Studio Veil, and enjoying the late night snack of pizza and pretzel bites from Deco. It was an amazing day celebrating Jackie and Tyler at their Machine Shop wedding!
Thank you to all the vendors that worked to pull this day off for Jackie and Tyler!
