Embracing History at Theodore Wirth Chalet Wedding

Real Weddings

One of our favorite ways to get new clients is through referrals. It gives us an opportunity to see our previous clients again, and we love knowing that they had such a great experience with us that they would recommend us to their loved ones! In case you haven’t picked up on it yet, Rachel and Bryan were a referral to us from one of our past couples. Jess and Adam have been kind enough to refer multiple clients to us (and you can read all about their wedding HERE).

Rachel and Bryan didn’t only book with us because of the referral, but also because they were pleased with various things we offer. One of those things was decor rental (view our inventory) and another reason was because we share a space with a Minneapolis florist. Overall, it made for a more seamless process for everyone!

The couple met on Bumble before going on their first date to the Riverview Theatre to see RBG. A few years later they were on a hike in North Carolina and when they reached the top, Bryan started to propose. A woman then slowly approached and asked if they would take her photo. Bryan said, “Sure, but I’m kind of in the middle of asking Rachel a question.” The woman freaked out and captured the proposal for them! The couple returned to Riverview Theater for their engagement photos to commemorate their first date. We love when couples embrace what makes their relationship unique to them!

When choosing a venue, it was important that it also felt unique to them and their interests. They settled on the Theodore Wirth Chalet because it combined their interests in historical buildings and the outdoors. Its Swiss feel also reminded them of their travels and skiing together.

During the planning process, the couple got news that the caterer that they had booked went out of business. Luckily, they had support from the KUE team during this process and didn’t have to face the challenge of finding a new caterer 4 months out from their wedding alone. They decided to book Chowgirls who were amazing as always!

The morning of the wedding, the ladies met up at Elliot Park Autograph Hotel to get ready with Blush Beauty Room. The beauty team did a great job staying on schedule and ensuring that each of the gals were feeling their best!

One thing that made Rachel’s look extra special was her dress. She wore her grandmother’s wedding dress from 1955 and didn’t even need to alter it! It was truly meant to be.

Upon arriving at the venue, the bride did a first look with her father and then her groom. Both of their reactions were so sweet!

The couple then made their way around the venue with Keighla’s Fresh Face Photography to capture a few portraits. Meanwhile, Dana and Alexis from the KUE team were busy greeting vendors and ensuring everything was prepped for the day ahead.

Rachel and Bryan opted to be the ones to greet guests as they arrived at Theodore Wirth Chalet. This was a great way to make sure they got to say hello to everyone and to have guests see the dress up close!

The couple had a small ceremony with only about 25 VIPs and then the remaining guests came later for food stations and dancing. The intimate ceremony was an important aspect of the day for the couple, so they were really looking forward to it. The fireplace at Theodore Wirth Chalet is stunning, so Rachel knew she wanted it to be a statement area for the ceremony. The flowers that Studio B Floral added to it made it the perfect scene! The couple exchanged sweet words, their rings from Brilliant Earth, and a long awaited kiss!

Once the ceremony concluded, guests enjoyed socializing and Complete Beverage Services kept the drinks flowing.

As cocktail hour wrapped up we began inviting guests into the reception space for food stations from Chowgirls. The space was set up using tables, chairs, and linens that the couple rented from Ultimate Events. We did our best to maintain a soft move to avoid creating a long line. This is always such a fun experience for guests and a great option for a more laid back dinner experience.

After grabbing some food, Rachel then stepped out to change into her modern wedding gown for the evening from Inspire Bridal Boutique. Bryan also changed his shoes to be more comfortable for the reception and dance.

Everyone was then invited to enjoy dessert which was ice cream from Bridgemans. As you can imagine, this was a huge hit!

The couple then went back out with Keighla’s Fresh Face Photography to get sunset photos, which turned out stunning!

The couple then went back inside for toasts, which the KUE team cued and coordinated. There is a tradition in Rachel’s family where two aunts dress up as the SNL skit, “Delicious Dish”. They brought Bryan up to join them while asking him leading and suggestive questions about his job at General Mills and some of the products. It was a first for us at a wedding, but so hilarious and Bryan was a great sport about it!

The couple then did their first dance, followed by the parent dances, before Instant Request opened up the dance floor to everyone for the rest of the evening. The remainder of the night was spent using the photo booth from Time Into Pixels for the guest book, dancing to the jams played by Instant Request, and enjoying the late night pizza provided by Black Sheep Pizza. It was truly a great celebration!
