We have worked with many couples, but a bride and groom with the same name is not a common occurrence! Working with the Aris, often referred to as girl Ari and boy Ari, was so much fun. We were introduced to bride Ari through a past mother of the bride who met Ari’s mother at a volunteer event. They got to chatting about their daughter’s weddings and Keyed Up Events. We absolutely love referrals and appreciate the support from our previous clients and their families!
When the Aris started working with us, they already had a few vendors booked including their synagogue, The Depot, their photographer Kelly Russo, and their band, Bluewater Kings. However, since bride Ari is in the medical field, they knew they needed more help with vendor research and selection. This led to them choosing our Planning: Lite services as it offered more help with the design of the wedding, customized recommendations for the rest of their vendors and free use of most of our rental decor.
The wedding day started out with the ladies gathering in their hotel suite for hair and makeup. The SM Hair and Makeup team met them there bright and early to get started on glam. Not long later, Hope from the KUE team popped in to check on the ladies and grab all the reception decor to start setting up.
Once the Aris were both ready, Kelly Russo Photography had them meet downstairs for their first look. After sharing this intimate moment, they made their way around The Depot to snap a few portraits. We love the various looks that Kelly Russo was able to capture within this one location! The couple’s wedding party joined them not long after to get fun group shots before the ceremony.
Minnesota Coaches arrived at the hotel right on time to begin shuttling guests over to Adath Jeshurun Synagogue for the Aris’ ceremony. Hope and Calisto, the KUE assistants for the day, waited in the hotel lobby with a list to ensure that all the right people were on the shuttle when they were supposed to be. Upon arrival, everyone was met by the beautiful sound of the Lake String Quartet. The ceremony site had been beautifully decorated with florals from Studio B Floral, which we were later able to repurpose in the reception space. The couple had a traditional Jewish wedding ceremony surrounded by their families and friends before heading back to The Depot to party accordingly!
While Dana was coordinating the ceremony, Hope and Calisto were busy setting up last minute decor. The Great Hall at The Depot is very classic, so the couple opted to keep things simple with blacks, whites, greenery and gold. They decided to get Chiavari chairs from The Seatery and floor-length linens from Linen Effects to give the whole room an elevated feel. All decor was provided by either Studio B Floral or Keyed Up Events besides the pressed flower signage that was made by bride Ari.
As guests arrived at the venue, they enjoyed appetizers and beverages served up by The Depot. When it was time for dinner, we opened the doors and began directing guests to take their seats. The Depot provided a delicious meal while they were serenaded by Bluewater Kings Band. The Aris wanted to change things up a bit and mix in some dancing between courses, which provided great entertainment for their guests while they ate. Throughout the remainder of the night, guests made their way to the dessert table that we had set up with our trays. The desserts from Cocoa and Fig were a huge hit and we could barely refill the dessert stands fast enough!
A major highlight of the Aris’ wedding day for their guests and the KUE team was the dancing, specifically the traditional Jewish wedding Hora dance! It was so fun to watch and their loved ones had a great time participating. Be sure to check out THIS video of the couple’s reception from Studio Veil to relive the event with us! (Fun fact: the videographer from Studio Veil was another KUE client who was having his wedding in September. Ben got the chance to see us in action ahead of time so he knew his day would go off without a hitch!)
