Elegant Barn Wedding at Redeemed Farm

Real Weddings

Emma and Jack’s love story is so sweet from the beginning all the way to their wedding at Redeemed Farm! With Emma growing up in Massachusetts and Jack in Minnesota, the chances of them meeting were not likely. That was until Jack had a work project in MA that led to a long distance relationship for a little over one year. Then the couple officially decided to move in together and have lived in Ohio, Wisconsin, and Minnesota!

When Jack decided to pop the question, it turned out even more perfect than either of them could have imagined. After dinner one night, the couple walked down to a spot on the beach and there was a rock engraved that said “to day one”. Emma asked Jack if he had placed the rock there and he said he had not. After looking at the rock, Emma turned around to see Jack on one knee! It turns out that Jack had actually not set the rock there, it was purely a coincidence!

This is when the Keyed Up Events team comes into Emma and Jack’s love story. Our owner, Dana, first talked to Emma before she even had a venue. They had a good conversation, but the bride knew she wanted to get the venue taken care of before moving any further. The couple looked at a few wedding venues together, but had a difficult time choosing the perfect one. Once they stumbled upon Redeemed Farm, they both agreed it was everything they wanted and so much more! (If you’re struggling with choosing a venue, check out our Venue Searching Service!)

Along with getting to work with Emma and Jack on the pieces from our rental decor they would use, Dana really enjoyed the conversations with Emma about the logistics of how things would work on the day, timing, and etiquette questions. When you haven’t been involved in a lot of weddings, it’s not like these are things someone would inherently know. There’s no other time in your life when you have to book hotel blocks, schedule shuttles and figure out the logistics of moving 150 people around a venue, not to mention all the extra things you need to do with the wedding party. We are here to answer your questions and help you in any way we can!

The couple worked a lot off of our recommended vendors list, as well as the list Redeemed Farm provides. We absolutely loved the vendor team that they hired. Everyone really worked together as a team on the day of the wedding, particularly with the weather! But more on that later.

When the wedding day arrived, the ladies got ready in the bridal suite on site at Redeemed Farm with Lady Vamp Artistry perfecting all the glam for the day! The guys hung out in the groom’s den watching tv, having drinks, and playing pool until it was time for them to get ready. During this time, all their vendors were busy buzzing around the venue grounds prepping everything for the day ahead.

The KUE duo for the day was Dana and Hope, but Calisto from our team was also on site in the morning to assist the florist, Studio B Floral, with setup. We focused on setting up the reception decor, greeting vendors, and making sure the wedding party had everything they needed.

As the wedding party finished getting ready, the bridesmaids put on their black dresses from Azazie and the guys got into their suits from Men’s Wearhouse. The bride slipped into her gown from The White Room and finished getting ready with her mom before doing a first look with her bridesmaids and her dad.

Photos by Jennifer Jane then led the couple to their first look, ensuring that Jack didn’t get a peek of his bride beforehand. As Emma made her entrance out of the barn, Jack was waiting with open arms to embrace his beautiful bride. This was such a sweet moment!

Jennifer Jane then captured a few couple portraits before inviting the wedding party to join for the fun group photos. We love the way that the bouquets from Studio B Floral pop against the simple black dresses!

Now remember how we said everyone worked together as a team with the weather? This is because as the ceremony approached, it was very back and forth on if we would be able to pull their outdoor ceremony off. We kept a close eye on the radar to make sure we could get Emma and Jack the Redeemed Farm outdoor wedding ceremony they planned for. This is one of those moments that a wedding planner comes into play that many people may not realize. The bride didn’t know at the time, but we had to hustle the wedding party out to the ceremony when we did, or we may not have had an outdoor ceremony. The storm was approaching quickly, but we made sure not to bring that up around her. 😉

The rain rolling in had no impact on the beautiful ceremony this couple shared. We loved that they decided to have a professional officiant. It is amazing the skills and talent they bring to the table to make the ceremony so special for each couple, and Susan from Perfect Day Ceremonies is one of the best! After a sweet ceremony between the couple and their loved ones, they said their I do’s and shared their long awaited kiss! They celebrated as they made their way down the aisle and were greeted with a congratulatory hug from their lead planner, Dana.

Hope was there to grab all the bouquets from the ladies to place in the vases as the finishing touch to the reception decor. Just as everyone made it inside for cocktail hour, the rain started. Thankfully the timing worked out perfectly! Guests enjoyed drinks from Liquid Motion as well as a snack table with various grab-and-go goodies.

We then whisked the couple away to sign their marriage license and share a moment of alone time before joining cocktail hour. We worked with the caterer to get a small plate of appetizers for the bride and groom to share during their quiet moment together in the bridal suite. We highly recommend taking this opportunity to enjoy one another’s company and take a moment to breathe and reflect on the day thus far. It will go by quickly, and this time can be one of the only moments you really get to stop and take in everything to the fullest!

Not long later, the couple joined cocktail hour and made sure to add their lock to Redeemed Farm’s collection. Jack took over this part, as he had a bit of a height advantage over the bride and wanted to make sure their lock was tall for everyone to see!

Then came one of the best moments of the day (at least for the KUE team)! We gathered the couple and their photographer to do a reveal of the reception space. All the work and effort they, along with ourselves and Studio B Floral, put into making the dinner area simple and elegant totally paid off! You know it’s good when the catering staff (who has seen it all) comments on how much they loved it. From the guest table decor to the hanging installment above the head table, it was truly perfect!

As dinnertime approached, we began inviting guests to find their seats in the reception barn. Dana directed them to the building while Hope waited in the barn to help direct guests to their seats if needed. Once everyone was seated, we lined the wedding party up for their grand entrance. Everyone had so much fun getting the energy up for the night ahead! After a welcome from the couple and a quick blessing, it was time to enjoy the delicious buffet from Green Mill Catering!

When the couple finished their meal, we pulled them aside to cut their cake from Amy’s Cupcakes so the catering team could begin cutting the cake for guests to grab and enjoy. They decided to have an unannounced cake cutting and had a lot of fun with it! There were also mini cupcakes from Amy’s Cupcakes that guests could grab and eat in the dancing barn a bit later in the evening.

After taking a quick peek outside, we saw that the rain had passed and resulted in the most stunning golden hour. We quickly talked the couple into getting some photos, and Jennifer Jane did not disappoint with these images that she captured!

As the reception wrapped up, guests began making their way over to the dancing barn to watch the first dances. The couple shared a romantic dance, followed by their sweet parent dances.

Instant Request then got the party started and kept the dance floor packed all night long! The couple came fully equipped with fun glasses and glow sticks to make their dance floor a true party.

As the reception barn quieted down, the KUE team worked with the catering team to clean up the space. As swiftly as our rentals arrived, they were gone (a great bonus to our clients)!

Nite Trane and Minnesota Coaches were right on time at the end of the night to shuttle guests safely back to their hotels from Redeemed Farm. The successful day for Emma and Jack had officially completed! If you want to relive the day with us, be sure to check out their wedding video filmed by their friend Gracy Perry Productions.

Wrapping up with the sweetest review from our bride, Emma. What a wonderful time we had working with you and Jack!

“I had the pleasure of getting to work with Dana directly for our wedding. From the very first phone call I had with her, I knew that we needed her to be a part of our day. There is no way I could have planned without her. I could list out all of the things that she helped me with but the list would be never ending. We were able to be guests at our own wedding with Dana there to guide all of the other guests and vendors. She arrived before me on the wedding day and left at about the same time, ensuring everything went smoothly, and everything exceeded our expectations. Even making sure we had a drink in hand throughout the night! I will miss working with her because I enjoyed it so much! There are just not enough words to describe how grateful we were to work with her! Thank you for everything Dana!”
