Art Museum Wedding in Minnesota

Real Weddings
bride and groom kissing portrait

One of our most favorite weddings ever was Danielle and Eric back in 2017. They focused on a beautiful venue, simple decor, and giving their family and friends plenty to eat and drink. As you can imagine, we were thrilled that Danielle’s cousin Brooke contacted us about her wedding at the Minneapolis Institute of Art (a beautiful art museum that can be rented as a wedding venue).

The morning of the wedding the ladies were at the couple’s apartment getting dolled up by Jenel’s Makeup and Sarah (a family friend). The bridesmaids wore stunning emerald green dresses; we love the varying styles that each bridesmaid had! After everyone was done getting ready, Brooke slipped into her gown and did a first look with the ladies. Their reactions were priceless!

Meanwhile, Mike and his groomsmen were getting ready at Hilton Minneapolis. The groom surprised the guys with a few gifts including a tie, a watch, and a pair of fun socks. Check out these photos of them rocking their new attire!

Our Keyed Up Events team was busy as well. We greeted vendors and made sure that the decor and all other details were prepared to perfection at the ceremony and reception venues. We were able to provide all their decor to go with the greens that they got from Sam’s Club, which made it super easy for them since their ceremony was off-site. We brought it all in when the space opened up at 2:00pm, and took it all with us when we left that night. The great thing about the art museum wedding venue is that because it’s so stunning, you can get away with simple decor.

As ceremony time arrived, guests began to filter in at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. We began getting everyone lined up for the ceremony and made sure that they were ready to walk down the aisle. The wedding party gracefully made their way to the altar, followed by the bride’s grand entrance escorted by both of her parents. The beautiful bouquet that Brooke carried was made by her mom. Sadie’s Floral provided the handsome boutonnieres worn by the groom and fathers, as well as the 3 big arrangements that were placed on the fountain at MIA. The arrangements made the perfect decor for the art museum wedding vibe – simple yet beautiful. After sharing a simple yet beautiful ceremony with their friends and family, they were officially married!

While guests made their way to MIA for the reception, the couple and the wedding party went out with Bellagala to capture some photos. They turned out amazing. You can truly feel happiness when you look through these photos!

When it came to the reception, Deco had much of it on lockdown. They served a delicious meal, kept the drinks flowing, and provided a sweet dessert later in the evening. The Bluewater Kings Band kept everyone entertained the remainder of the night with amazing music (as always)! The day was truly filled with so much love and happiness, and we are so glad we got to be part of it!
