A Tropical Themed Wedding That Will Blow You Away

Real Weddings

Dana was introduced to Lia and Matt via a mutual connection who was the original planner for their wedding. When she became pregnant with twins and realized she could not work the wedding, that planner made an introduction of Dana to Lia’s mother Laura. Dana came on board and helped them round up the last of their vendors to give Lia and Matt the technicolor tropical wedding of their dreams!

Lia and Matt’s wedding day was nothing short of stunning! It started with everyone meeting at the AC Hotel – Downtown to get ready. The room was decorated beautifully by Dream Day Dressing Rooms the day before and looked beautiful! The ladies spent their morning getting glammed with Dawn & Megan for hair and Primped for makeup. Before arriving to check in on the ladies, Keyed Up Events got a message from Lia explaining that she needed some McDonalds to combat some of the rehearsal dinner aftermath (add that to your list of reasons to have a wedding planner)!

Soon after, Sadie’s Floral stopped by to deliver the eye-catching bouquets to the girls before pictures began. Once Carly Mac Photography arrived, everyone was ready to head out for photos. Lia did a first look with her bridesmaids, followed by a first look with her soon-to-be husband Matt. Carly Mac Photography did an amazing job capturing their reactions in these photos!

The wedding party then got on the shuttle from Renee’s Royal Limousine to head to the Nicollet Island Pavilion venue. Dana, the lead planner for Lia and Matt, spent a lot of time working with both the venue and the caterer, Mintahoe, to ensure all of the details were in place. There were many special considerations when planning their wedding due to COVID. We had to make many different plans because we didn’t know what the restrictions would be on the wedding day. Luckily, all of the restrictions ended up getting lifted just a few weeks before the wedding!

The ceremony took place outside under a tent. The decor consisted of lights, pink lanterns, and a beautiful floral arch arrangement from Sadie’s Floral, all of which matched the tropical wedding vibes perfectly! The couple did a candle lighting unity symbol and shared a kiss in front of their beloved friends and family – they were officially married!

Post ceremony, the couple went out for a few more shots with a clear umbrella to embrace the small rain shower that had started. The pictures turned out amazing and Summit Hill was able to capture some beautiful footage of the moment as well! Meanwhile, guests were mingling and using the adorable photo booth provided by Northerly Campers. Mini Memo Co. also created some signage around the reception area which matched the tropical wedding aesthetic of the wedding perfectly!

Later that evening, everyone enjoyed a delicious meal provided by Mintahoe for dinner. Lia and Matt used our chargers on the dinner tables, and it truly completed the look! Guests were invited to eat desserts provided by Farina Bakery that did not disappoint! The couple also chose to utilize some edible flowers from Salt and Pep to decorate various items.

After eating, the couple did their first dance (which was so fun and sweet) and their parents dances. They decided to do a joint parent dance, so the father-daughter and mother-son dances took place at the same time! Generation Now then invited all of the guests onto the dance floor and kept them entertained all night long!

Lia’s mom, Laura, was kind enough to leave a review about the Keyed Up Events team throughout the planning process and the day of the wedding, read her sweet words below! Lia and her mother also provided some advice to other mothers of the bride. Check out the blog to get the details!

Again, we have to shoutout the amazing group of vendors who we collaborated with to pull this day off!
