Some weddings are planned for years, others come together in a whirlwind of excitement, determination, and just the right mix of magic. Eleanor and John’s engagement was long but the decision to finally tie the knot came together in under three weeks at Pique Travel Event Space! John would be joining the military and things would be much easier for the couple if they were already married when it happened. That kicked the planning into action!

It all started with a call from John, asking about Pique Travel Event Space as their wedding venue. As some of you know, Dana also manages the rentals at Pique so they connected right away. John had been to Pique before for a celebration of life for his grandparent so he remembered the space and decided to see if it was available. When she heard the wedding was coming up quickly, Dana made some helpful suggestions and John thought she should connect with Debbie, Eleanor’s mom, because clearly between the two of them they could make this wedding happen!

The timing was great because Pique was having their wedding fair that coming weekend. That fair turned out to be the perfect one-stop shop! Eleanor and John met Complete, who they booked for photography, videography, and DJ services on the spot. They also found Liquid Motion, adding the perfect bar partner to their celebration. Everything was falling into place at lightning speed.

Debbie had a vision for the menu where she wanted stations, and I immediately knew that CRAVE was the answer. Keeping things seamless, Debbie also turned to a trusted florist from past family events, Chenoweth Floral, and sourced decor from KUE. As Pique’s venue managers, we knew exactly how to bring it all together—the mixed metals they chose added a modern, elegant touch to the space.

The couple started the morning at John’s aunt’s house getting ready. Fortunately, the couple and the wedding party, which was their siblings, were all able to find clothes event with the short planning time, along with someone to do hair and makeup. Debbie was a big help with that!

The photo and video team of Jackie and Robb from Complete arrived at the house to capture the first looks with Eleanor and her bridesmaids and dad. Then it was finally time for the couple to see each other! You can tell how excited they were and the love they were feeling.

Back at Pique, our team along with CRAVE and Liquid Motion were getting everything set. DJ Todd from Complete (one of our favorites!) joined the team in getting things set up and ready for family photos. We always recommend doing wedding party photos out and about and then doing family photos at the venue to keep things simple.

Once the photos were done we scooted the couple over to MontegoBlu next door to hang out until the ceremony started. With Pique not having a side space to hold the wedding party we always recommend they head there to have a drink and a snack, and sometimes sign the license, before the ceremony. Plus they have a few great photo spots!

It was finally time to get the couple down the aisle and Pique was a packed house! The couple opted not to rent additional chairs but did more bar stools that came out after the ceremony so some of their guests stood for it, which just meant it was easier for them to be the first in the bar line! Once the “I do’s” were said, the couple headed outside to talk with their guests while the KUE team and CRAVE flipped the space and got the stations ready.

Like any great wedding, there were surprises along the way. A medical emergency with an elderly guest had us jumping into action, but thankfully, healthcare professionals among the guests took over, and an ambulance arrived quickly. Thankfully all ended well with the guest being stable but was taken to the emergency room just to be safe.
After that excitement, guests were able to feast on the delicious stations from CRAVE and also enjoy the sweet treats from Nothing Bundt Cakes and Kwik Trip donuts. And then, the real party began. DJ Todd had the dance floor packed from the first song to the last. It was the perfect way to end a day that came together quickly but will be remembered forever.

The best email from Debbie came a few days after the wedding:
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all your hard work, expertise, and talent. Your role far exceeded our expectations. We could not have done it without you! I wish we could do it all over again this weekend.
