The KUE team started working with Meghan and Ben when they booked Pique Travel Events as their wedding venue. If you didn’t know, our owner Dana manages this venue! This makes communication and planning very seamless for couples because their planner and venue manager are the same people (which is NOT usually the case!). Meghan and Ben booked Keyed Up Events to help them work out the details of their wedding and to help them blend their families together.
As we dug deeper into planning, the couple quickly realized that they wanted to have a different kind of wedding than Pique would allow them to. They ended up giving up their date at Pique which luckily resold so they were able to get a refund! After looking at their options, the couple decided to move their wedding north in Excelsior to Cast & Cru.
The couple’s wedding party consisted of their children, so the focus of the day was the happy blending of two families. Meghan and the girls got their hair and makeup was done by Brandon Kopp and his assistant, Kyla. The girls then put on their pink bridesmaid dresses (and one cute flower girl dress) before doing a first look with Meghan in her wedding dress. Meanwhile, Ben was getting ready with their son. The guys were definitely outnumbered by triple the number of ladies in the family!
Once everyone was ready, the bride and groom made their way outside for a lakeside first look. It was a gorgeous day to celebrate an even more beautiful couple! Once they captured a few couple’s portraits, the kids joined them for group photos of the whole wedding party. The bouquets from MillerHouse Flowers added the perfect touch to the ladies’ looks!
Since the couple wanted the day to feel more like a lakeside party, we decided to have a later ceremony starting at 6:00pm. The outdoor ceremony location at Cast & Cru is so beautifully simple and makes the perfect natural backdrop! After the couple shared their sweet kiss, they joined their guests for a big group photo. We love when couples can do this because it is a great memory to look back on and see all of your loved ones in one place! HL Photo did a great job capturing this moment.
After the ceremony, Cast & Cru provided passed appetizers and drinks outside by the pond while everyone socialized and enjoyed the beautiful night. Soon later, everyone was moved inside to enjoy casual food stations that were also provided by Cast & Cru. We helped work out most of their wedding menu to include some crowd favorites but made sure they weren’t overordering too. Guests then enjoyed sweet treats from Buttercream and Crumbl Cookies.
After filling up with some delicious food, everyone made their way to the dance floor from Epic Event Rental. The couple took the stage to do their first dance while everyone was serenaded by the amazing Bluewater Kings Band. Shortly after, the floor was packed with guests dancing the night away! The couple also knew that they wanted a neon sign and a fun location for photos. After some looking, we found Boxwood Rose which provided a boxwood wall and a “Crazy in Love” neon sign. It was the perfect touch to the decor and activities!
Once the couple’s Cast & Cru wedding wrapped up, guests were safely transported back to their hotels in Gray Line shuttles. This was a night to remember filled with family, friends, and a whole lot of fun!
One more shoutout to all the vendors that pulled this day together!
