Sarah and Sarah (yes, two Sarahs!) came to us as a referral from another planner. We always say it’s good to befriend your competition for various reasons… from having someone relatable to chat with to receiving/sending referrals. This awesome couple is the perfect example!
The couple wanted to celebrate their 10th anniversary since they live in Minnesota now, and didn’t when they got married. They have a whole new set of friends who weren’t at their wedding and wanted the day to be a celebration of all the people who have supported them. We were honored to take on the role of helping them plan this event!
At first, they had another venue picked out that was mainly a sports complex, but that venue could not guarantee their date. Sarah and Sarah ultimately decided to let that one go, and we helped them on their search for a new venue. They wanted a venue where kids would have fun and there would be plenty for guests to do. Bell Museum ended up being the perfect fit for their 10th anniversary party! The museum has plenty of things for guests of all ages to enjoy, including dioramas upstairs along with the Touch and See Lab downstairs. There was even a Planetarium show!
Since the primary focus of the event was celebrating their love and Minnesota relationships, they wanted lots of pictures of and with their guests. The Sarahs were not excited about always being the center of attention in photos. This way they could relive the day by looking back and seeing their happy guests. We love working with Charnell Timms Photography because she can bring out the fun side in anyone, so she was perfect for this!
One of the couple’s main goals was to not have the anniversary party feel like a wedding. Since we primarily plan weddings, it was a fun opportunity for our team to get creative in a new way! We leaned into the space for linens and decor. Thankfully, Linen Effects has a huge variety of linens to choose from! We went with a desert and rust theme upstairs, and a water theme downstairs. We even had little plastic fish in their centerpieces!
Along with the event being a fun celebration, they wanted to make sure their guests were eating GOOD. D’Amico was up to the task and did a great job. They even provided delicious desserts!
The night wrapped up with plenty of dancing and guests having fun in the photo booth from The Traveling Photo Booth. DJ Justin from Instant Request is one of our favorites, and did a great job getting everyone out dancing with an eclectic mix of music!
This was such a fun day celebrating Sarah and Sarah. We are so thankful for this referral and the couple’s trust in us to plan their awesome 10th anniversary party!
