We first connected with this couple thanks to our relationship with The Gardens of Castle Rock (we love being a preferred vendor there!). Mariah is type-A, organized, and full of vision—but life got busy when she landed a new job right after booking The Gardens. The morning was full of meaningful moments, including an incredibly sweet photo of Mariah, her mom, and her grandma with the wedding rings from three generations. Although the photo is one of many, there are little details like this that you can add into your wedding day to make it even more special!

Mariah had fallen in love with the bright pink and orange colors when browsing color palettes for the wedding, and loved the idea of using citrus as part of the decor. We leaned into that with items from Joy de Fleur, We’ve Got It Covered, Linen Effects and KUE’s inventory to make it really feel like a fun, colorful summer wedding!

We helped Mariah and Matt assemble an amazing vendor team that even included some family ties—a relative of Mariah’s dad officiated the ceremony and a friend of her aunt’s handled florals and helped gather the perfect citrus decor accents.ceremony backdrop was a rustic wooden structure that we gave a modern twist, balancing natural elements with colorful florals for a fresh take on rustic elegance.

For the reception, the tables continued this bold look—pink and orange linens and florals, with mini oranges doubling as place cards (we couldn’t help but joke that it was just too cutie). While Mariah had done a lot of the design detail work herself, we stepped in to help her bring it all together and execute it seamlessly—a perfect example of how our flexible wedding planning services to fit your needs can help whether you want full planning or just a trusted partner to assist.

Mariah and Matt cared deeply about their guests’ experience, especially when it came to food and drink. Fork & Flair Catering Events kept everyone happy from the start with passed apps and dry snacks around the bar area (handled by Liquid Motion Bartending). The plated salad service let guests enjoy a bite while waiting for a hearty pasta buffet, and dessert was beautifully handled by Villa Valley Goods. The Gardens’ pizza oven made for a perfect late-night snack—wood-fired pizza that kept the energy up on the dance floor all night.

One of our favorite decisions by this couple was opting for an expanded photography package with Lollipop Media—this meant Natalie captured every detail Mariah worked so hard on, was there for the rehearsal dinner (even on the boat for the rehearsal dinner!), and ensured every moment, large and small, was beautifully documented.

Even though it was a hot day (by Minnesota standards), many guests were from the South, so they handled the heat like pros.

Mariah and Matt’s day was a beautiful example of how couples can still be hands-on while letting us help where needed.
