Megan and Ben may not seem like your typical bride and groom, but that’s what makes them so special! These two were the first of their friends to get married and hadn’t had much experience with weddings in their families either. After talking with them about these details and how they felt moving forward with wedding planning, it was clear that they felt most comfortable booking our All-Inclusive wedding package. This gave them the confidence that they would have a professional guiding them through every step of wedding planning and day-of! Prior to booking our services, the couple booked their venue. We were pleased to hear that they went with The Gardens of Castle Rock, as it is a gorgeous venue that we have worked with many times!
The whole wedding party had a laid back morning getting ready together on site. Unfortunately, one of the bridesmaids had to bow out day-of as she was sick, but the rest of the group just rolled with it and kept the vibes up! The ladies did their own hair and makeup, and Megan even got to help her groom get ready too (his eyes were closed of course)! We love when couple’s customize the wedding day to fit their desires. You will see that Megan and Ben really leaned into their own ideas, while still maintaining that traditional wedding structure. It was so fun to pull together!
Not long later it was time for everyone to get dressed. Megan slipped into her gown from David’s Bridal and Ben sported a suit from Men’s Wearhouse. Megan opted to wear a black veil that popped against her blonde curls. To finish off their looks, the bride and groom had matching purple manicures and matching shoes with their black cat’s face on them. We loved these special touches for their October wedding!
Penny’s Photographics then set the couple up for their first look. We love the photo that was captured of Ben’s reaction. It was truly such a sweet moment! The couple then made their way around the property for a few portraits before their wedding party joined them for group pictures.
The KUE team, the couple, and Michelle from Stargazer Designs worked throughout the planning process to pull together a wedding theme. Ultimately the couple decided that they would like to lean into Halloween as the holiday was nearing, but not go overboard with decor. We added pumpkins throughout the venue, including lining the aisle. This was a fun fall touch that didn’t go too far into halloween territory. Stargazer Designs also included a lot of sunflowers in their arrangements and bouquets as the couple opted to make them a primary component of their paper goods and decor! We loved this vibe for an October wedding at The Gardens.
Megan and Ben shared a lovely ceremony in the Lath House at The Gardens of Castle Rock surrounded by their family and friends. After sharing sweet words and a long awaited kiss, they made their way down the aisle as the happiest new Mr and Mrs!
During cocktail hour, guests were invited to grab sweet treats from the candy bar that KUE provided. This spoke to the halloween vibe that the couple wanted, without crossing that fine line.
Once it was time for dinner, guests made their way into the reception tent. They were met with tons of sunflowers and pumpkins, are we even surprised?! It was truly the perfect decor choice for an October wedding at The Gardens. Everyone loved the decor choices, it was a casual vibe while still looking put together and classy. A win-win for Megan and Ben!
When it came to the meal choice, the taco bar from Lucky’s 13 Catering was the perfect choice for this couple. It was affordable, filling, and could manage different dietary restrictions that some guests had. Not to mention it’s delicious and a fun experience for your guests!
For dessert, guests enjoyed a delicious cake from Sweet Kneads Farmington Bakery. We love the two-tiered cake with black trim they provided as Megan and Ben’s cutting cake. It truly matched their inspo photos perfectly. The couple displayed their custom Funko Pops here, which was such a fun personalized touch!
While the KUE team was planning with Megan and Ben, they were planning to just have a DIY setup for the dance with a laptop and a friend’s speakers. After a while, they decided to take that off of their plate and let a professional handle it. That’s where our friends at Studio Veil came in! From the ceremony to the couple’s first dance their team did an amazing job, leaving Megan and Ben very happy with their decision to hand this responsibility over.
To open up the dance floor, the couple opted to play “Spooky Scary Skeletons”. Okay, maybe that detail crossed into Halloween territory, but this was the perfect way to get the dance floor grooving for their October wedding at The Gardens!
This was such a fun group that kept the energy up throughout the night! Penny’s Photographics captured so many epic evening photos, including a few portraits of the couple. We had so much fun planning this October Wedding at The Gardens with Megan and Ben and we were honored to celebrate their love!
We couldn’t wrap up this summary of their day without sharing Megan and Ben’s sweet review for Keyed Up Events. Thank you Megan and Ben!
“Dana and her team are amazing! My partner and I would have been totally lost without their guidance and help. Dana’s recommendations for vendors were spot on and we were able to stay within our budget. Day of they made sure everything was on track and ready and we felt like we could have a stress free day, everything was perfect and would recommend KUE to anyone!”
A huge thank you to all of the vendors that helped bring Megan and Ben’s day to life!
