If you’re looking to have your wedding in the Midwest, but longing to have those romantic, Italian village vibes… then Villa Bellezza Winery may be the perfect fit. You will be transported from Pepin, Wisconsin to Italy as you enter the space! In order to give you an inside look into the venue, we interviewed their Systems Manager and Event Coordinator, Jill Auth.
How old is your building, what is its history and when did you start doing events?
The Event Center was completed in September of 2012. We had our first wedding here that month and have been doing weddings ever since.
What do you think the best feature of your venue is?
The Italian Village feel, what could be more romantic! First there is our tower for the first look or beautiful pictures. Then there is the walk down the aisle between the vines to the beautiful pavilion. We also have the stunning spaces in the Villa for wine, dinner and dancing. Finally, we have the piazza and romance by the fountain, under the cafe lights and much, much more. It is like having a destination wedding without leaving the country.
What do you think is the biggest challenge of working in your space, and what are some best practices for it?
Fortunately, we have not had many challenges so far!
What do you think is the perfect number of guests for your venue, assuming everyone will be sitting at a table at one time? What is the benefit of having this number of guests?
Our seating space is flexible! We have had as little as 60 people with an intimate romantic feel to as many as 300 people with flexible seating in our balcony, for a large family and friend celebration. We help with the floor plans, so the space is what you are dreaming of.
What is the most interesting thing someone has done at a wedding at your venue?
All of our weddings are unique! One of our favorites is when we had a couple that suspended a large floral arrangement from our 31-foot ceiling. They also brought in some flexible seating for people in the balcony and bar area.
Do you require a professional planner or day of coordinator at your venue? Why or why not? If you don’t have one, or have one that doesn’t do a good job, how does it affect you as a venue and the wedding as a whole?
We do require a day of person, the person does not have to be a professional, however we strongly suggest our couples hire a professional. It can make all the difference and make your day smooth and stress free.
Big thank you to Jill for taking the time to answer our questions! We hope that this inside peek at Villa Bellezza has been helpful in your venue search. Be sure to send us a message if you are still in need of a coordinator, we would love to chat and see if we’re a good fit!
