In late March Dana got a phone call from a random number, she happened to be free at the time so she answered. A mother of the bride, Tammy, introduced herself and the KUE journey with Abby and Alec began! Abby and Alec both live in Minnesota, but Abby was originally from Omaha. Tammy called Dana from Omaha just as the busy wedding season was approaching. The couple had an early October wedding coming up, and only had their venue and photographer booked! Tammy knew that they needed some extra help, so she reached out to the KUE team to assist with coordination and planning. Within 6 short months, we were able to bring them an outstanding vendor team who were able to bring all of their thoughts and visions of a modern woodland wedding to life!
While working with Abby and Alec, we got to know a lot about them. They are both very creative people, being actors, along with Abby writing and directing a series they were producing. Between all of that and Tammy being a few states away, it made the most sense for the couple to get our All-Inclusive Wedding Planning service. This way, they could be confident that everything would be taken care of for them amongst all of life’s chaos.
Being talented and creative people, they had access to a large community of people sharing the same qualities. They were able to have some friends sing and play guitar for the ceremony (the singer was even a bridesmaid)! One of their production friends, Josh Cisewski, was also able to step in to record the wedding video. It never hurts to tap into your network to see who can help out!
When discussing the vibe of the wedding, Abby was adamant on including color. She didn’t want traditional fall colors for their autumn wedding, so we settled on a lovely dark teal for a modern woodland fantasy vibe. Jamie from Wilderland Floral totally nailed it with a gorgeous floral arch display, full bouquets, and accent flowers throughout the entire venue at Bloom Lake Barn. Sarah from Dough-phoria gave us a show-stopper cake display that was the perfect teal color detailed with floral elegance.
The morning of the wedding, the bridal party got ready in an amazing AirBnB in Marine on the St. Croix River. This was the perfect magical, woodsy setting to set the mood for the day ahead as the ladies got pampered by the 139 Hair by Heidi team. The personalized sweat suits that Abby got the bridesmaids from with the logo from Hunt Wright Design Co printed on them were so fun and cozy for their morning getting ready!
Soon after, the wedding party made its way to the venue. Bloom Lake Barn accented the teal incorporated throughout the wedding perfectly. It really tied together the modern woodland vibe of the wedding. Upon arrival, Abby stepped aside with her mom, Tammy, to slip into her stunning wedding dress from Arc Bridal. The dress fit her like a glove thanks to the precise alterations done by Marsha’s Stitches. During this time the bridesmaids all got their gorgeous deep teal dresses on from Azazie. After getting into his handsome tweed tux, Alec headed out to the woods to do the first look. Abby met him there shortly after. The woodsy setting made the special moment so magical and matched their vibe perfectly! Bethany Jackson Photography was able to capture this beautiful moment, along with the amazing photos of the entire day.
The ceremony took place outdoors on the grounds of Bloom Lake Barn. The bridal party entered through the white rustic ceremony doors from Rustic Elegance, which were then closed and reopened by the ushers to reveal the beautiful bride escorted by her father, Mike. It was a touching ceremony, filled with laughter and heartfelt words.
After a fun, social cocktail hour, it was time for dinner. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal from Unique Dining in the chandelier-lit barn. Following dinner the couple shared their first dance along with the mother-son and father-daughter dances. Trustworthy Music was on top of all of the songs and kept guests on their feet all night long! By 11:00 the party was over and everyone said their goodbyes after a long, joyful day.
